We have an array of unforgettable safari experiences to give you a true feel for South African Bushveld living.

guided game drive
Explore Limpokwena Nature Reserve with a trained and qualified field guide on our game drives. You will be stunned by the transforming scenery on a network of tracks leading from the thick riverine forest along the water’s edge, snaking through the vibrant Mopane thickets, and then eventually opening up into the magnificent immensity of the acacia savannah. View one of our curious Giraffes, or any of the antelope species in unparalleled proximity as they stop and pose for a photo. We recommend you stay at least 2 nights to get a full experience of the surrounding nature, while also leaving ample time to unwind.

Guided Bush Walks
There is nothing like encountering game on foot without the disturbance of a vehicle. We will spend time on tracks and signs as well as a bit of birding, for a much more intimate encounter. Silence and solitude are rare luxuries in modern life, but you will find both in abundance here on our walking safaris. However, what seems like a quiet rest spot soon becomes an orchestra of the intense fish eagle cry, the low baritone of Pel’s Fishing Owl hoots, the rustle of antelope in the foliage, and the gurgling of the river.
Please note:
- Bush walks are offered at an additional rate of R450.00 per person.
- Advance bookings are essential for bush walks, and availability is dependent on our judgment of certain conditions and animal movements.
- We advise a moderate level of fitness for bush walks.
- We do not allow children under the age of 12 years, as there is a possibility of encountering potentially dangerous game such as Elephant and Hippo while on foot.

Bird-watching
For the avid birders, our proximity to Botswana and our location at the meeting of two rivers brings a myriad over 300 species to us. We are located along the Soutpansberg-Limpopo Birding Route as recognized by BirdLife South Africa. With one of the most exceptional locations to tick off the elusive Pel’s Fishing Owl (with 2 of only 50 recorded breeding pairs in South Africa!), we offer specialized birding drives where we can spend time ticking off some rare lifers, such as the African Openbill, Saddle-billed Stork, Ground Hornbill, Meyer’s Parrot, and white-backed night Heron.
For anyone keen on birding, these drives are highly recommended!

Approximately 4 hours with a mixture of both walking and driving

R500.00 per person.

Bush Braai’s
Another great way to end the day is by booking an al fresco dining experience with a traditional South African braai. Your game drive ends at a surprise location, set up for a rustic riverside dinner around the fire and underneath the stars.
A limited selection of drinks is provided
